If you run a trade business, you already know people judge the website. What a lot of guys miss is they judge the email the same way.

A quote from [email protected] can be the same job, same price, same truck as one from [email protected]. The homeowner does not see it that way. They are deciding whether you seem like a real shop or a guy with a free inbox.

They read the From line the way they read the site

When three estimates land in the same inbox, the number is only part of it. The name on the email, the quote, the way you sign off — that is the first impression of how you run the rest of the job.

A sharp website and a Gmail quote underneath it is a mixed signal. One says you mean business. The other says you have not quite gotten there.

Gmail is not a scam. It still looks small.

Nobody thinks Gmail is fake. Everyone has one. That is the problem. It is the same address a high school kid uses. It is easy to dump in spam. And it tells the customer you are using whatever was free the day you started.

A real address — [email protected] — matches the truck, the site, and the invoice. It is a small thing that reads as “this is a company.”

Put the real address on the quote or invoice

The From line is half of it. The other half is the paper they keep. If the quote or invoice still says gmail, you undid the good send.

When you send a quote or an invoice, the same address should show up in three places: the From line, the quote or invoice, and how they reply.

The free Invoice Creator and Estimate Generator will put that address on the quote or invoice. Type [email protected] in the email field — not the Gmail you still check on the phone — then send it.

You need a real address first

You cannot put a real address on a quote if you do not have one. Gmail in the From line and Gmail on the paper is the same look. The fix is [email protected] — on the send, and on the quote.

If you’d rather someone handle it

That’s the work Turnkey Tech does for tradesmen in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. After a short conversation, I create a professional email at your own web address. It is easy. You send quotes from [email protected] and get back to the job. You can see how it works and what it costs on the homepage, or just call or text if you want to talk it through.
